I am sound designer for a game company and would love it if Directwave had the same drag and drop that halion 3 and Short Circuit have.
That is, you can highlight a part of audio from your cubase project window and directly drag it to the sampler and DW sets the start and end points of the sample according to the part hightlighted in Cubase. This is probably the biggest reason that I don't use Directwave much at this point.
Another item would be to have pitch modulation ranges greater than 1 octave. For sound design I like to use 3-4 octave pitch modulations to create a variety of sound effects.
