FPC -Pitch change and record overwrite

Hello. I am new to FPC. I have watched all the videos online. I have two questions still unanswered:

1: if I lay down a hi hat roll, Can I pitch change selected parts of that roll in the fpc, or do I have to have the hi hats in it’s own channel and change on piano roll? I have the akai fire if that changes anything...I’m hoping to find a way to use the FpC for all my drums but I often pitch change random parts of the hi hat roll.

2: if I lay down a kick and snare, then want to record a hi hat roll on a second take. It will over write the kick and snare if I use the same instance of FPC. Is there a way to change that? Or do I have to clone the channel for every take?

I appreciate any help or suggestions you may have :)

1) Yes, there is a fine pitch control for each ...
