Different assignments for one MIDI controller

Hello FL Studio community.

I have bought a MIDI controller some time ago. The MIDI controller is able to switch between all the different instruments listed on the channel rack.
This comes in handy when you quickly want to switch from one instrument to another.
When tweaking the build in knobs on the controller I am able to change for example the cutoff of one instrument.
I am able to do this by binding the cutoff knob inside a VST to my MIDI controllers physical knob.
When I do this I am able to adjust the cutoff of this VST-instrument even though I switch to another instrument.
This is a huge issue for me since I would like to be able to adjust the individual instruments features from one MIDI controller when switching between VSTs on the channel rack.
Is this even possible and if so how should I setup my controller?

This is very possible to do using scripting, and in fact, my Universal Controller Script (https://github.com/MiguelGuthridge/Universal-Controller-Script) does it for quite a few devices and plugins.
