Issue connecting midi keyboard

Hello, i know this has been asked alot, but after tons of googling, i havent been able to get this resolved.

I have a windows 10 computer with updated FL studio.

I have a Yamaha YPT-210 keyboard

And today i bought a brand new driverless "plexgear midi to USB interface".

I plugged it in, and windows made the normal pling sound for device connected. The interface has 3 lights, USB, midi IN and midi OUT, the usb is the only light that is on.

I opened fl studio, went to midi settings, and i can now see my keyboard as "USB MIDI interface", i select it in both input and output, and i clicked enable to enable the keyboard.

Then when i play, nothing happens, nothing registered as sound coming back.

I restarted the computer, replugged the cable, rebooted the midi device, opened fl studio, issue persists

I downloaded midi-OX, unsure if i used it correctly, but i selected my midi device in settings, and tried to play notes, no logs showed up.

I do have an Akai MPK mini controller that works perfectly fine in FL, i disconnected it, but issue persists.

I feel like i have tried everything, this is the reason i bought a new cable, since this happend to my last one, and i thought it was broken, but now im starting to wonder if the issue was somewhere else, and im running out of ideas to try.
