Roland TD-17 hi-hat CC settings and Steve Slate Drums 5.5

I am posting this as a reference for anyone else who has trouble getting Roland v-drum hi hats to accurately trigger the CC articulations in SSD 5.5 within Fl Studio.

SSD 5.5 would only read the mapped MIDI notes and not any CC data from the hi-hat controller. After chasing my tail for days and trying every setting on my TD-17 drum module, I finally figured it out. It has nothing to do with the TD-17 module and everything to do with the midi settings in FL studio.

Here is what worked for me:

Within the FL studio settings, MIDI input / output devices for the TD-17. I set both input and output to Port 10 (can be any port number, but I used 10). I also enabled Send master sync.

Inside the SSD 5.5 plug-in settings, I set both input and output ports to 10 as well.

Now SSD 5.5 can read every MIDI CC hi-hat articulation between fully open and closed tight.

This most likely will work for other VST drum plug-ins like EZ Drummer, Superior Drummer or BFD Drums, although I have not tested.

:D
