Annoying workflow with any controller keyboard

[EC-HQ]

To make it short:
- controller keyboard (Arturia Keylab & NI Kontrol) is installed correctly
- appears in device list in FL Studio an IS enabled
- Playing/Recording notes works.

BUT when I want to use the hardware's knobs and sliders the mess piles up.
Plugins can only receive data when a MIDI port number is selected.
E.g. controller sends at port #0, plugin listens to port #0

This leads to two very annoying things:
1. Notes of the keyboard are received twice and double notes are inevitable.
2. I have to change the receive port on each intstrument/channel again and again and again (quoting "a forest" ad infinitum)

Sorry, is this really the correct workflow?
Am I doing something wrong?
