m-audio oxygen pro 49 - play button issues

So I really love the functionality of this controller with the exception of the play button.

When I press the play button, it cuts the audio on and off within .1 of a second.
It takes me usually two to three presses to get the play button to work properly.

But I want the play button to work everytime like it's intended.

Can anyone help?
