Auto makeup means you can match the original volume after the fact. Rarely do developers have the skill to employ such a feat, to you free from DSPplug, with the most efficient algo you will probably ever find.

EDIT: Noticed dependent on the use, it might crackle without a de-zipper. The only safe amounts of mS seem to be nothing stated or 2-3 ms for the built-in de-zipper. You could also try My included de-zipper code which seems to work alright also.
