Optimization not optimal?

Hi:

Could you please tell me whether it is normal for EZG to create duplicate files in the ../web/documents folder whenever I place a linked file in the ../web/extdocs folder when uploading to the server. I use the ..web/extdocs folder for PDFs, mp3 and mp4 files. The screenshot below shows that I have optimization enables.

You can also see in my "optimization" screenshot that there are many folders in my project and most of these have not been used in years or are empty, but EZG does not want to remove unused folders and their files during the optimization process.

As an example, the other day I removed 213 files from my documents folder that are not used in my project any longer. I think EZG optimization should have purged these files a long time ago. Could you please tell me what the optimization rules are in EZG? What does it do and what does it not do?
