Hi everyone!
Here's an impulse I created with a translucid softener bottle.
I made it in CMYK, recording separate impulses for each color channel by shining a torch through acetate sheets colored Cyan, Magenta and Yellow, with lights off. For the black channel (K), I just turned off the lights, then I added a white impulse, to be mixed in a proportion of 100 - K (the black impulse).
The zip file attached is a ZIP FL Studio project with all the impulses loaded on separate channels on the step sequencer, and the volume values set to create a "Bright Blue" demo color, with #403295 as HEX code. You can adjust the volume knobs to change the color and save the result to a new impulse sound file. There's an impulse file with this color inside the zip file, with file name Softener Bottle #403295.wav
To record the impulses inside the bottle I used cellphone headphones plugged into a laptop headphone/microphone combo jack. I placed the earplugs on the bottle bottom, the microphone halfway through it, played a loud snare sound through the earplugs on FL Studio and recorded it on Audacity with the microphone (I had selected record only external audio on FL Studio, but for some reason it doesn't work and keeps recording internal audio too. Anyone?).
