A few questions about recording impulses...

Hi guys,

I am finally getting round to experimenting with Fruity Convolver and its epic! I'm going to be recording my own impulses sometime soon and have one question which i just can't seem to find the answer to. I know when we make impulses we need to use something loud (like a starters pistol, as it said on the tutorial videos), but does the impulse sound that I use directly effect the characteristics of the reverb. Will the velocity at which I strike the object I am using as an impulse directly effect the reverb? Does the sound of the impulse recording make a difference? Could I use various different objects to add variety to the types of reverb in which I can get from my room?

Thanks in advance guys :)

Lindon
