Restricting MIDI input within Patcher?

Hello all.

I have this ancient workstation that I began making music on, and one of the great things about it was the fact that you could partition portions of the keyboard, eg make the latter two octaves bass, the upper two leads and the middle drum sounds. I've emulated this using Layers, and just using the orange bar in the testing keyboard on each synthesizer to limit the MIDI input, and I'm wondering if I could do the same thing in Patcher. I probably can, but I haven't yet found a way.
