This is a follow-up to an idea posted by Dion here on implementing a simple dry/wet knob using Fruity Stereo Shaper. After setting up an example project using sidechaining to a separate Mixer insert, here now a Patcher preset that does it all internally.
To use, load the Patcher preset as an instrument into the Channel Rack and route it to the desired Mixer Insert (MI; e.g. MI-1). The Patcher preset in the Channel Rack (Patcher Level 1) contains another Patcher (Level 2) with the Dry/Wet knob made with Fruity Stereo Shaper. On the Patcher Level 1, replace Sytrus with your instrument/generator of choice, and the Fruity Reeverb 2 effect with your effect of choice. That's it. Routing for the sidechaining is already hardwired into the Patcher preset. The only thing to observe is to leave the Mixer Insert (MI-2) adjacent to Mixer Insert of the Patcher preset (MI-1) open, because this is were the wet signal goes and can be heard.
The Dry/Wet knob can be linked to a controller or hooked up to an Automation Clip as usual.
Tip: To open up elements within Patcher while keeping other elements open, hold the ALT key on the typing keyboard while clicking on the element.
An example project is included here.
