Five parameters (Cutoff, Resonance, WS-Mix, Pan, Volume) of Fruity Love Philter are each rhythmically controlled via their own independent step sequencer to introduce groove, movement and variation to the audio signal.
Each step sequencer unit generates Internal Controller signals (red cables in Patcher). Sequence length can be set from 1 to 16 steps. First Step, Sequence Length and Step Length, as well as On/Off (Seq OR 1) can be set individually for each sequencer. If a sequence exceeds Step 16, the playhead rolls over to Step 1 and continues there.
The level of each sequencer step is set by a slider. Base level (Base), amplitude (Power) and smoothing (Smooth) can be adjusted collectively for each step sequencer. A visual indicator shows which step is currently playing.
Levels of the sequencer steps can be randomized using a specialized engine.
Features:
Seq Control Tab:
- 5 Step sequencers
- First Step selection: 1 through 16
- Sequence Length selection: 1 through 16, with rollover
- Step Length selection: straight, dotted, triplet in the range of 1/16T to 1/2D
- On/Off button: When Off, only Step 1 is played, the level of which is set on the Sequencers tab
- Level sliders for each step. Move manually to adjust levels. (I wish you could slide your mouse across to set values in a flow, but Control Surface does not allow for that.)
- Range adjustment per sequencer: Base level (Base), amplitude (Power) and amount of smoothing (Smooth)
- Individual indicators for each played step
- Randomization is triggered by the R-Trigger button, applying the selections of R-Base and R-Amount
- R-Base knob sets the base level for randomization
- R-Amount knob sets the randomization range. The default value is zero. Increase the R-Amount value for increasing the range of randomization. To set all of a sequencer's sliders to a specific value (e.g. 50%), set the desired value on the R-Base knob and the R-Amount to zero, then press the R-Trigger button
- Fixed setting quick buttons for 0% and 100% values
- Optional: Assign knobs and buttons of the Randomize tab to a hardware MIDI controller, so that you can view the Sequencers tab to visually monitor the randomization while playing the hardware controller
All knobs, sliders and buttons can be automated as usual in Patcher, which adds an additional level of movement and variation.
Template: The Fruity Love Philter module on the Map tab can be replaced by any plugin or chain of plugins with an Audio input/output. Expose desired parameters and connect the red cables coming from the "Base+Power" modules (P1_Base+Power through P5_Base+Power).
ALT+Click sets default values for knobs and sliders.
Visual monitoring: From the Map tab, open the controlled plugins (to see the knobs dance), as well as the "Base+Power" module(s) to view the curve shapes.
SVF-Zeq^16x5 uses only FL Studio-native components.
Have fun!
