Patcher Effect preset for step sequencer-driven and LFO-modulated panning of an audio signal.
Pan-Zeq^16 LFO is derived from Pan-Zeq^16 by adding LFO-driven automation to its step sequencer sliders. Yields a flexibly adjustable autopan effect with a 16-step resolution, smoothing, and additional variation via its LFO settings.
Step Sequencer: First Step (1-16), Sequence Length (1-16) and Step Length (1/16T to 1/2D), as well as On/Off (Seq OR 1) can be set individually for the step sequencer. If a sequence exceeds Step 16, the playhead rolls over to Step 1 and continues there.
The level of each sequencer step is set by a horizontal slider. Base level (Base), amplitude (Power) and smoothing (Smooth) can be adjusted collectively for the entire sequencer. A visual indicator shows which step is currently playing.
LFO: Sliders can be automated by a separate LFO, settings of which are found on the LFO tab. These include speed, amplitude, Y-offset, tension, phase and shape. LFO shapes include sine, triangle, square, saw and random. When the step sequencer reaches (activates) a step, its curent value is forwarded for as long as it is active. If the sequencer moves slowly, this value may change over the active period, yielding additional motion.
The entire LFO as well as LFOs for each individual step can be turned on and off individually by respective buttons. When an LFO is turned off (step or global), the 'disconnected' sliders can be set manually.
As the LFO is created with Fruity Peak Controller, it syncs to songtime when the FL Studio clock/transport is started and repeats its motion with every start.
Randomization: Values of 'disconnected' sequencer steps can be randomized using a specialized engine.
Visual monitoring: From the Map tab, open the Fruity Balance plugin called 'Sequenced Pan' (to see the Pan knob dance), as well as the "P1_Base+Power" module to view the curve shape. Monitor LFO movement on the Sequencer tab.
Additional information in the Notes on the Map tab inside the preset.
