No way to merge clips?

Hi, just started using FL Mobile and for the most part it's pretty great.

However I noticed that I started recording a keyboard part and wanted to re-record a part of what I just recorded. So, edit the clip and removed the bad notes, press record and re-record the part. The result is it creating a new "track" under the channel I was previously recording on and created a new clip for just that part I redid.

Is there really no way to just add to an existing clip via recording? I can drag the clip from the new track up to the main channel, but it still remains its own clip. In other DAWs this would be a simple, select both clips and choose merge, or bounce, etc. Seems like a basic operation.

What am I missing?

Thanks
