Mp3 and Midi

I was in the middle of transferring an mp3 file onto a track of fl mobile, but I could control the pitch and speed via the piano roll. I have no clue as to how I did this, but I would love to do the same to my other mp3 files. If anyone can help me out, it would me much appreciated!
