Trying to connect MIDI keyboard to fl mobile app through dell chromebook

For some reason the app isn’t letting me connect my USB midi keyboard through my chromebook. It came up under midi setting briefly then is gone again. I clicked “any available” under midi settings but it won’t let me “link to MIDI CC” I tried just hitting keys but that’s not working either. I can play notes on my standard laptop keyboard, but I would really like to get my synth to work with the app. Any advice?
