Is a percussion synth possible?

Maybe one that's like the old drumsynth VST from the PC version of FL Studio or Master Zap's Stomper app? And is that idea being discussed? I'm thinking something that would not only generate drum and percussion sounds, but ambient as well. I've just been looking around for a good sample generator for Android and so far found nothing.

You can try SunVox, it is the most feature rich...
