PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING YOUR SUPPORT REQUEST!

Do not post in ALL CAPS and do not put HELP! in your post titles. This forum is a help forum, and all caps will not speed your support request.

CHECK YOU ARE USING THE LATEST VERSION OF FL STUDIO. Pay attention to the build number, FL Studio 20.6.x - Get it here

When installing it, since you have technical issues, use the 'Clean Installation Instructions' below. If you are already using the latest version, try a clean installation also.

WE NEED DETAILS!

Take a moment to provide everything we need to know, to understand your bug or problem, for example:
  1. Step-by-step instructions on how to recreate the issue.
  2. Simple example projects that show the problem.
  3. Screenshots / Videos of the problem.
  4. Attach crash logs. These can be found in your User data folder in ...Documents/Image Line/FL Studio/Support/Logs/Crash/. Best way to give these to us is to .zip the ...Documents/Image Line/FL Studio/Support folder and attach it to your post.
  5. IF ITS A BUG/CRASH ALWAYS START BY UPLOADING YOUR DIAGNOSTIC REPORT

    To start a new topic...

If you already started a topic...

    1. Select Help > Diagnostic
    2. Select 'I have a technical problem'
    3. Click 'Show me what's included'

    5. Right-click and select 'Copy'
    6. Right-click and paste it into your Techsupport post.
...all which will mean we can fix your problem/s faster. Finally, take the time to search this forum (there is a search field above this post) for similar bug reports prior to posting AND don't forget to perform that clean install:
If you can't open FL Studio...
  1. From the macOS Finder browse to [Macintosh HD]/Applications/FL Studio.app
  2. Right-Click FL Studio.app and choose 'Show Package Contents'
  3. Navigate to /Contents/Resources/FL/System/Tools/Diagnostics/fldiagnostic.app and open it from there.

CLEAN INSTALLATION & FIRST RESPONSE TROUBLESHOOTING INSTRUCTIONS

This may fix hard to trace Access Violations, Crashes etc ...
  1. Before proceeding .zip the following folder and upload it to this forum - [user data folder] ../Documents/Image-Line/FL Studio/Logs. This will help our team to understand the problem.

  3. Make sure you are using AT LEAST the last version of macOS High Sierra (10.13.6). Mojave and Catalina are also good.
  4. Make sure any 3rd party plugins you use on this list are updated to the latest version and set accordingly.
  5. If you can identify any 3rd party plugins that crash, try the opposing VST or AU version. Please also report the bug to the developer!
KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

The manual has a section on macOS shortcut modifiers.

AUDIO PROBLEMS - INTERFACES, USB MICS, BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES AND OR AUDIO RECORDING
  1. If you are using any 2018+ Mac with a T2 chip, please read this article - Apple’s latest Macs have a serious audio glitching bug
  2. Try Aggregating your Audio Device/s - This can fix audio inputs/outputs not showing up, it's also necessary to use two or more audio devices at once (e.g an audio interface for your speakers and a separate USB microphone), audio disappearing, audio not appearing, audio settings not being remembered and more.
  3. Recording Microphones - Go to 'System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Microphone', ensure that microphone access is enabled for FL Studio. Also Right-click the main record icon in FL Studio and make sure 'Audio' is ticked. Apple added microphone permissions in Mojave.
  4. Timing issues - Try setting Audio Settings > Tracking to Driver.
  5. Headphones - If they are not recognized, plug in your headphones and test they are working before starting FL Studio. Also, make sure FL Studio is set to the same Sample Rate as your headphones (if they are wireless), often 48 kHz (48000 Hz) for Apple models.
  6. Try resetting NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac
GRAPHICS PROBLEMS (MISSING WINDOWS, LAG, RED SCREENS, GLITCHES)
  1. Make sure you are using FL Studio 20.7 or later, 20.1 included significant graphics improvements.
  2. Manually update to this Mac VCL component.
  3. If your Channel Rack or other window won't open, try 'Playlist menu > View > Arrange windows > Desktop (default)'. The following relate to GUI performance ...
  4. Try disabling 'Playlist menu > View > Keep labels on screen'
  5. Open the 'Diagnostics' tool from the main toolbar HELP menu and try the options 'Wait for VSync' ON/OFF and 'Fix Graphical performance > Use PBO' Auto, ON & OFF'
  6. Try disabling 'General settings > Ultrasmooth'
  7. Mouse scrolling issues - If it's too slow, set SNAP to 'Line' in the Playlist, Piano roll and Event Editor.
  8. Try resetting NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac
MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT USING A CASE SENSITIVE FILE SYSTEM
