MIDI in timing really bad/jittery

Hi,
Using latest 20.0.99 build 123 but tried this on a few previous versions and got the same sort of results, not posted until now.
So Im controlling FL studio from an external hardware sequencer over USB, works in other VST hosts like Akai VIP so I know its not the connection or the hardware.

Everything works but timing is REALLY bad, very jittery, any ideas?
FL studio would potentially make an awesome VST host but this is not a good start, strikes me it wouldn't be that much work to make FL studio into a VST host, strip away the sequencer etc or hide it, would wipe the floor with the competition, seems to be an upcoming thing with NI komplete Kontrol and VIP v3

VIP doesn't load AU or VST3 and is pretty klunky and NI KK only loads ONE plug in at a time!

Ps further testing, the timing gets more jittery when you move the mouse around quickly !
