WE NEED DETAILS!

We appreciate it's frustrating when things don't work as expected. However, please help us to help you by following these suggestions:

  1. Update - Before trying anything else. Download and install the latest version of FL Studio from here. Your bug may be fixed already!
  2. Update plugins - If you are using 3rd party plugins. Look at crash logs for their names. Install the latest version for any you spot. See also Plugins Behaving Badly
  3. Simple clear explanation - Explain what you are doing, or trying to do, and exactly what is happening.
  4. Update macOS - Are you using AT LEAST the last version of macOS High Sierra (10.13.6). Mojave and Catalina are also good.
  5. Specific information - a) FL Studio version & build number, b) what you are doing and what happens exactly, c) step-by-step instructions how reproduce the problem.
  6. Screenshots - Another great way to demonstrate issues. See how here. Include images using the 'Attachments' tab, at the bottom of the post edit window.
  7. A video - The best way of demonstrating many issues - Use QuickTime as shown here. Include videos to your post from the 'Attachments' tab, at the bottom of the post edit window.
  8. Use English - Google Translate your post. Short simple sentences in your original language translate best. We are happy to work this way, no need to worry.

Apple Silicon, M1, ARM Support

We are actively developing a version of FL Studio to run on Apple Silicon (ARM architecture CPUs). We have a native M1 version in development.

If you are using or considering making the switch to Apple Silicon devices, it is important to have your expectations in check. Initial software compatibility, stability and performance, across the board, will likely be patchy.

Apple has provided M1 users a stop-gap solution - Rosetta 2. This automatically recompiles Intel x64 code to M1 (ARM) at installation.

FL Studio 20.8.2 or higher runs well under Rosetta 2 - Get it here

Native M1 support is still a few months away.

All DAW and music software will likely be specifically impacted for early adopters of ARM based computers. Unlike simple web-browsers, word editors and other similar applications, DAW software is based on highly optimized code that must run in real-time, without glitches to the audio. This code is necessarily low-level and will take some time to perfect, even after its up and running.

Furthermore, the ecosystem of 3rd party VST and AU plugins is vast. These cover an almost infinite spectrum of developers, resources and talent. Many plugins you, probably, take for granted may never work on, or at least smoothly on Apple Silicon (ARM).

We look forward to the future and seeing where Apple Silicon can take the competition amongst CPU vendors. The more CPU performance you have, the more you can do. However, we appreciate your patience while we work through the issues and deliver the FL Studio performance you expect.

We will make future announcements in this article as the project unfolds.
