How to turn off 'default preset naming'

I didn't know how to word the title, but I can't find the answer anywhere...

So when I go to change the name of a track or channel on the board, the window where you enter the new name of channel/track has the preset arrow already selected. So when I go to type, it automatically selects a preset based on what i've typed rather than letting me enter my own name in. If I remember to click into the type box before I begin typing, I can bypass it of course, but I really hate that this seems to be the default

This probably seems trivial but when you have to do this for every track on every song.. it gets tedious
