"Midi devices have changed...Refreshing..."

I'm having an issue where I'll be playing a pattern or song in FL 11 and it will suddenly stop playing back and jump to the last place I stopped. When this happens, a message pops up in the upper left hand corner reading "Midi devices have changed...Refreshing..." Sometimes the message shows when nothing is playing. Even when I have no other tabs or programs open the problem persists . Is this a problem with FL, or is it more likely an issue with my audio interface or computer?

*Note: If it is at all useful, I am running a dell laptop with windows 10, and a focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface.
