organizing plugins

Hello,
i got some problems with my plugins.
when i installed a new plugin and refreshed it in the plugin manager, some plugins wont show up as planned or at least not 32 or 64 bit versions in the browser (Like Serum which obviously has a 32 and 64 bit version). Some of them are shown twice in the browser in FL and i have to delete them one by one. Also effects are shown in the generator part. Im really sure that i selected the right folders in the manager.
When i now move on and want to work on an old project, it wont recognize some of these plugins which were used in these projects and my song or mix is ruined. So i am really scared to refresh my plugins. Is there a better way to keep my plugins organized?
I couldnt find a solution in the forum.
Thank you for your help
