recording to playlist rendering earlier than midi

I am recording an external synth to the playlist, but when it renders, the audio file is like 50ish ms early, not late. Clearly this is not a latency issue. As far as I can tell, it might be cutting out the PDC from the beginning of the audio clip, but the only place I can find an option to not do that is in the export window, and I have turned it off there, and it's still happening. For now, I am just shifting everything manually, but that is annoying.
