Akai Fire Browser Button 'cannot focus a disabled or invisible window'

using latest edition of fl 20.1 (build 795).
pcspecialist cosmos vii laptop

When I press the browser button twice, I get the above mentioned error message, and then all knobs on the fire no longer work unless I plug the device in again. The problem literally stopped happening as I was about to get some screenshots of this issue, but i thought i should document what happened because i'm fairly sure it will pop up again so that we can get to the bottom of this.

I had autohide enabled in the browser, browser was minimized.
i press browser once, browser pops up.
press browser again, it minimizes and error message shows up again, rendering the device useless.

I tried to rectify by un enabling autohide in the browser window, and the device still failed. then i unplugged and replugged the device and it worked again.

so then i re enabled autohide, and the issue was still gone... really weird. i did a few tests of reopening the project, the fire still works.

Worth mentioning that when i first got the fire i had the browser disabled, and i used the browser button to pop it up when needed. This often resulted in access violations though so i re enabled the browser. maybe this is linked to the issue?

And as its mildly related, two of my snapshots (2 and 5) cannot be scrolled by the select button, even now: (current project, but renamed to projects with a few extra folders added) and snapshot 5 (which i renamed to all, as i wanted the first slot to be my personal sample library). Just trying to give as much info as i can recall, maybe it will help.

Lastly the browser button seemed to sometimes turn red, sometimes not. I cant remember much about this though.

the one consistent thing is that the browser button works once, then the second press messes it up.

thanks in advance, and a big thank you to the developers. Slowly learning all the ways fl + the fire can speed up my workflow!
