why is cpu drain so much more on fl studio

Hi I also have other daws and it seems that the CPU drain on FL studio is so much more extreme for the same amount of plugins tracks etc. Can this be improved? I often get popping and audio dropouts. For example when adding in Ozone 8 elements to my master bus on a project. FL becomes unusable but not so with another popular daw.
