Pan and Volume don't show in Channel Rack

Tried searching for a Topic on this.. no luck. When I open FL Studio 20 the Pan and Volume controls do not appear on the left side of the Channel Rack. It "seems" that using the Splitter next to the Name Field on the Left "can" make them appear in which case they remain but then on opening at some later time they are gone again. I don't find any documentation on why this happens and nothing on an option to hide them or reverse... so.... can you please tell me what is going on and if I can fix it? Thanks in advance.
