FLEX automation apparently not working

Hi

I've been fiddling with a project that uses FLEX pretty extensively, and having added a bunch of automation to it, I then tried automating the FLEX macro sliders. Per the manual on FLEX "Automating macros is a great way to impart unique character to presets."

But, as far as I can see the automation I added is doing nothing - the sliders don't move, and the audio doesn't change as it does when I move the sliders manually. Anyway, I replicated it in an incredibly simple project, and I've attached that here. I also ran the FL Studio diagnostics and I've attached that too.

I'm probably doing something silly, but honestly, it's escaping me...
