MIDI Export does not contain pitch information

When working on a collab with someone using Cubase, they sent over some midi with pitch information. It imported correctly and maintained the pitch information as an event in the channel pitch, but after I made some tweaks and exported the midi via "File > Export as MIDI File", the channel pitch was lost.

Why does MIDI export lose the pitch information? Is there a way of maintaining the pitch information when exporting to MIDI?
