Patcher seemingly not able to handle much

Hey, I have a problem w/ Patcher in that it is not very capable of handling very much when I create new combos of instruments and effects. Wh
en I have used a couple of my own chained up instruments and used them in a track, I often get shut down with the red exclamation point telling me that my sound driver just went nuts. Is there a bug or do I need to tweak things??

No error message at all- just completely shuts ...
