A highly needed feature by all film and TV composers.
As a power user, I create orchestral and electronic templates most of the time, I waste a lot of time browsing for the instruments I want. To create a template without "inactive channels" options, the project will take forever to load and will be extremely heavy on the machine. So It'd be incredibly efficient to be able to create for example a 200 channels (wrapper) template and make those channels "virtual instruments" or "mixer effects" inactive until till I need to activate them when I need them. By that, the project will load super fast as it doesn't load the inactive virtual instruments or mixer effects, but they're all there in their places ready to be activated by a one button click, I'll just need to select the channels/effects I need for this cue, and select "Activate".
In short, the feature completely takes the channel away from cpu memory, but it's there infront of your eyes.
Only for clarification purposes, here's this feature in Cubase:
Here's a visual example I created in Photoshop.
