When you consolidate a pattern, it'll automatically become grouped + disabled under the printed audio file in the playlist. I wish there was an option in settings to turn off this behavior. example of settings entries:
consolidate pattern: automatically disable pattern in the playlist (yes/no)
consolidate pattern: automatically group pattern (yes/no)
majority of people use pattern consolidation to save their CPU/RAM from real time processing, but there's also users who are just trying to experiment, chop, rearrange, alter audio files instead of midi, and consolidating a pattern many times is sometimes needed until you achieve what you're looking for. But the current behavior of consolidating patterns is very cumbersome & slow for this type of experimentation/trial & error based workflow.
