Sometimes when I want to copy some notes in the Piano roll from one pattern to a new empty one, I will copy the notes, switch to the empty pattern and accidentally hit Ctrl+C instead of Ctrl+V, then when I try to paste the original notes in it doesn't work because the clipboard has been overwritten by the blank piano roll. I then have to go back and copy the notes again and then go back to the new pattern, which means it takes twice as long as it should have.
Is this something that can be changed so that when there is nothing to select in the current pattern's Piano roll it doesn't overwrite existing clipboard data?
