Hello, here is an issue I pointed out many times but without much success.
As we have alt+click in channel rack to show more than one channel window, so we should have:
- Alt+click for mixer effect slots to show more than one effect window
- Alt+ double click in the playlist to show more than one channel window
As it is now each window behave in a different way, when this could be unified and simplified.
CURRENT BEHAVIOURS
- Channel rack -
Single click = opens one channel and closes all the others
Alt+click = opens more than one channel without giving focus to the channel rack window (AWESOME)
- Mixer -
Single click = opens each time an effect slot, but only the last opened stays on top of the mixer window, the remaining ones stay open behind the mixer, mixer steals focus each time you click
Alt+click = does nothing
- Playlist -
Double click = opens one channel window and closes any other channel window if open
Alt+ double click = does nothing
WHAT IF:
Alt + click in the Mixer =
opens more than one effect window without giving focus to the mixer (AWESOME)?
Alt + double click in the Playlist =
opens more than one channel window without giving focus to the channel rack/playlist (AWESOME)?
This way all windows would behave the same.
Pretty please, FL UX really needs some consistency. Many times it is a big mess of controls and functions and shortcuts, each being different, whereas instead it could be managed in a much more simpler and solid way by users.
Since I joined this forum I always talked and asked for such consistency, and brought to your attention dozens and dozens of issues which could have been solved with a more logic and easier method for the end user to work with. Leading to a more solid and unified software.
Please, why it is so difficult to give some solidity and union to the software?
Are you aware that these small inconsistencies are one of the main causes why FL feels messy and unorganized?
There is so much stuff to fix there...
This is just a heartfelt advice from someone that loves FL and uses it since almost 18 years.
Thank you
