a number of enhancements that would make a world of difference.

- new top bar widgit thing for a pitch detector/tuner for currently selected sample in pattern mode. so u dont have to add a tuner whenever u need to see if ur 808 is actually in key, etc. in song mode, maybe make it become a scale detector instead.

- implement a way to set the scale of the project via the main ui at the top of FL or something and have that be constant throughout the different iterations where the scale would need to be shown.

- show pitch areas in sampler waveform preview (similar to how edison does it, but without having to manually do some menial task to see basic info)

- improve immediate ui access to piano roll tools (e.g. chopper, groove template tool). dont hide them in some menu where u have to go sifting. the keyboard shortcuts are not enough honestly, they're not an excuse to avoid improving the UI. same goes for changing note subdivisions, make them immediately visible without some hidden menu u have to open. 1 click note subdivision changing please for the love of god.

- ive said it before ill say it again, add a 'select random sample from folder' button or a sample-order randomizer for the browser. seeing the same things again and again is horribly mind numbing and stifling for keeping things fresh and exciting. please help us avoid monotony by any means.

- integrate new time into the playlist for audio clips

- make selecting a scale easier and improve usability. scale selection is another thing that should be visible in the main ui without having to menu dive or use stamps. to be clear, stamps are still useful but they're annoying to use.

- show the notes of the scale by illuminating or hightlighting the scale notes themselves in the piano roll, not only the background tint beside the key. maybe dim the notes that arent in the scale considerably or something. just make it readable.

- introduce built in sample library management tools. so much of the music today is sample based, and large libraries of samples are particularly annoying to manage and sort. make this easier and people will LOVE U. Things that would be amazing to have: batch file rename, note detection + rename labelling (pre-pend/append, etc), root note fixing (set to middle c), automatic sorting a folder of samples into subfolders based on their detected note or instrument type, an AI/accurate duplicate audio file finder.

- automatic scale detection for samples with multiple instruments (would be amazing if FL could be set to automatically change it's scale to match the scale of the sample when it is dragged into the playlist)

- display detected key next to samples listed in the browser

- mpc-style workflow for sampler (or just integrate fpc into sampler, etc. in a way where you can just trigger samples without no fuss or setup required - drag, drop, and it just f-ing works)

- what is even the point of the pencil tool remove that shit and just keep the paint brush tool which is more effective

- do we really need a delete button in the piano roll or playlist when we can just right click the mouse to delete a note? seems kind of redundant and poorly thought out?

- PLEASE FFS add a nice built in tape stop/start effect to the playlist, similar to how Logic does it. on/off effects like these are really annoying to automate by hand and logic does it really well. example of what i mean:

- rename note subdivision labels (or offer a selectable option atleast) so they display more straight forward note values (e.g. 1/16 note for 16th notes, 1/8 note for 8th notes, and so on).

- add the ability to literally draw an automation curve in the playlist by hand. either im missing something or this doesnt exist and it should. make it EASY to do, no menu diving and shit.

- integrate edison into the playlist

- expand on groove template functionality/usability. maybe integrate with newtime. allow groove templates to be loaded from the step sequencer itself via like a drop down menu that reads the files from a folder u define or something. so i can easily find a groove i like. make it so u can use the mouse scroll wheel to flip through the templates quickly.

- a toggle-able option to autostretch loops to the project tempo when adding them into the project. eliminate the manual bs as much as possible. add a quick option to double time or half time tempo for audio clippers as well.

----------

- this isn't really a small enhancement but rather something id just like to see done really well: make a very accurate emulation plugin for the sound characteristics of different old samplers (mpc 60, sp1200, other mpc models, etc).

- expand on slicer and modernize the f**k out of that shit.

- another genius idea, look into implementing a real time version of old techniques people used to do, like pitching up samples in old samplers to save sample space, then pitching them down again when it comes to using them in a beat. time stretching introduces interesting artifacts that people have come to love.
