Using Patcher Control Surface for params external to Patcher

Can I link parameters external to a patcher instance to parameter data inside that patcher instance (i.e. from controls on the control surface or from fruity envelope controller on the map)? Seems like there should be a way to route parameter data to the "To FL Studio" node like one can with audio or event data so that it is available for linking outside the patcher instance.
