What we expect is:Shinyless wrote: I never implied that users were stupid, but there's so many different workflows in FL that if we go for a tool to merge audio clips, it should be both flexible and user-friendly. And that's why I'm asking for details on what users expect, as it may be very different from one user to another.
- Merge audio clips with two options:
1 merge without FX including the 3 bands EQ (this is actually the major use on a DAW) Using the selection tool
Lets say an example: You have different audio sections (in the same mixer channel) but those sections makes one sample, and this ones are maybe different audios, so you want to merge in one audio to manipulate with one and not 10 knobs an automation of volume or panning or whatever you want to do, and respecting the original samples without effects. (Yes I know there is disk recording and the bypass switch) So thats the point of have a faster tool to make the job, giving us the option to not adding any FX, to improve workflow, it have sense?
I should add that is completely illogical that the 3 bands EQ haven't a bypass on this days...
2 merge with FX
What we aware is:
1 to merge audio clips, this ones should be placed in the same mixer channel. As we actually do with disk recording.
2 [/ b] to merge different audio clips in one, we should place those clips in the same mixer channel, if we try to render 2 or more different clips, placed in different mixer channels, it will appear notifying us we can not merge the selected audio clips , As we actually have with MIDI instruments.
