Ofcourse i deselected it. And indeed, it did not clear my other installment, like Scott said. Before this beta, even deselecting it would revert *some* settings in my other (non-beta) installment. So i am very happy they splitted the registry entries.Kaitav wrote:I was expecting this from others. Do you remember what did you select for "Settings/Clear"? I guess you "deselected" them. But I hope that this option is changed to two separate options in the next update: Migrate previous settings and Clear settings, as it has been with all the installers before these betas.exmatproton wrote:I installed the beta in a different folder (image line->beta) and for the first time EVER (to my knowledge), a beta/update from IL did NOT alter my existing install (12.5)Kaitav wrote:Installed and started testing the beta 2. I will keep updating my observations in this post. Note: Restarted PC before and after installing the beta. Installed the beta in a separate folder.
My observations:
1. Settings / clear option during the installation is not working as it should. Choosing one of them is not working, either select both or deselect them. I installed with both these options ticked and #2 happened.
2. Installing the Beta disturbs the existing installation completely - all the settings, work-space layout, etc. gone. Related to #1. This was a bit disappointing, as I was not expecting these problems.
I agree with you that a migrate option (like before) would be nice.
