Soft ambient sounds - help

Hi all - I'm new to this forum so apologies if this is posted in the wrong section.

I wanted to know if anyone can provide advice on how to create soft and ambient sounds in FL 12? I've got the producer edition and ideally I don't want to buy anything extra for now. A good example for me is the music in this:

That sound which begins at the very start and continues throughout in the back...very slow and peaceful but importantly it's "soft". Any idea how to make something similar? I'm guessing it's to do with making pads?
