(SOLVED) how to make an automatically fluctating controller?

So let's say there's a knob in the program I want to control, and a slider on a real-life midi controller, then I know I can use "Link to controller..." to control it directly.

But what if I want the knob to always be automatically fluctuating by itself, and use the real-life slider to control how fast it fluctuates?
