musical/audio terminology.

I think that, with a greater musical and audio vocabulary, it's easier to understand music and how it works, and to understand sound itself. I've taken a pretty decent amount of time away from composition to study music theory. In any case, I've been looking at these two very different schools of thought:

- basic physics/acoustics and working with programs like fl studio

- and the old system (scientific pitch notation, also known as the western notation system).

EDIT: just making a comparison while I am furthering my studies. I think it's possible to increase your aural skill with music to the point you might get close to perfect pitch.
