I keep running into this problem, which is best shown via a photo:
So what I am doing here is ducking signals through an insert triggered by midi notes. The signal is on beat, but the ducking is happening way too early even though the midi notes are also on the beat. I believe this is caused by latency from my vocal channel which reads at a nasty 96 ms right now. If I disable that FX chain, it's back to normal. I still think this isn't supposed to be like this however? And no, it is not only happening with FabFilter's C2. Same story with LFOTool approach to ducking. Look-ahead adjustments don't really change this.
Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I couldn't find this exact scenario via search.
