Low framerate in Xfer Serum

I've noticed something weird with Serum and how it runs in different DAWs. In Ableton, Logic and Pro Tools, Serum seems to run at 60 fps, while in FL Studio, it only runs at around 15-20 fps. I've looked at numerous videos on different YouTube channels where Serum is used and confirmed that it does indeed seem to run at a lower framerate on FL Studio for everybody, but not in any other DAW. Other VST plugins such as OTT and Ozone Imager, as well as FL Studios own plugins, all run at 60 fps.

I've emailed Xfer Records about this issue and they told me this:
"The DAW supplies the idle rate, they could up that. Some plugins force redraw but that is not the correct solution as per VST spec."

If it's that easy of a fix, could you please make this at least an option? If this isn't it, could you please take a further look into this issue please?

Edit: I should add that I'm using the Windows version of FL Studio, and this issue is present in both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of FL Studio 12 and 20.
