What are the main benefits of recent FL workflow changes?

Hello,

I'd like to see if I can understand at least one common workflow with FLStudio's more recent
Channel Rack/Patterns/Playlist/Mixer routings, etc. design changes in recent months and years.

I feel like I'm starting to get a little confused about the advantages of recent workflow changes.

Can someone direct me to some thread, resource, and/or workflow ideas that can help me to
get an overview of what the benefits of the recent workflow design changes are?

I'm not yet forming a picture in my mind of what the excitement is all about with the recent changes.
So I know I'm missing something very important at this point, because I know the changes have got
to be good, but at this point I'm just not understanding why they are so good.

Maybe I need to just go over the manual again, which I have not done in quite a while.
