True story: Akari Kouhai (pictured) was a sweet, funny gamer girl portrayed by a catfishing male teenager. Akari stole the heart of an awkward college student who believed for weeks that Akari was everything he could ever want. Even after multiple warnings from yours truly that Akari is probably a dude, the guy did not want to believe it. Day after day, he waited online for Akari to come online to play. The moment she entered game, he would join instantly - even when he was reportedly too busy to play just moments before. He talked to her in team chat for hours on end, even when she would not speak a word. One day the truth came out and he was heartbroken. In anger and embarrassment, he deleted all witnesses from his friends list. He continues to game everyday in hopes that one day he will find his real Akari Kouhai.
This track was written while witnessing the above unfold. And so, it is dedicated to the memory of Akari Kouhai and the sad college student who lost the love that he never had. I made the sounds in this track to convey the exciting feeling when you're with somebody who makes you feel alive and happy. The mystical sounds stand for imagination and hope. Yet, there are odd sounds added to bring a sense of uneasiness as if everything is too good to be true. haha!
