Separating resynthesis and 'core' synthesis pitch. Possible?

Let's say that the sample you've resynthesised is a single note sung at E3 by a good singer. When playing a C3 and adjusting the image freq pixel scale knob from 0 to 100% over the course of the note, you start with a 'robotic' approximation of the sound at C3, and the partials 'bend' toward E3 (also reintroducing the singer's natural pitch variations) over the course of the note as you twist the knob.

Now let's say the sample you're resynthesising is a single note sung at C3. When playing a C3 and adjusting the image freq pixel scale knob from 0 to 100% over the course of the note, the result is very different. You now have something akin to an 'robotic' C3 at 0% and twisting the knob toward 100% reintroduces the singer's natural variation with no grand change of pitch. It almost becomes an 'autotune strength' knob. And of course, this holds true across the entire range of the keyboard.

As far as I can tell, there's no way to shift the pitch of one or the other independently. You can of course repitch your sample to a C in an audio editor first, but this messes with the formant structure if it's old-school resampling or introduces other artifacts before your analysis if you use pitch shifting tools. Even then, you have to make sure you get the right octave, else twisting the image freq pixel knob can cause harmonics to 'split in two' or bend toward each other and fuse together. That can itself be a cool effect though! There are a ton of interesting sounds possible when the 'core' synthesis engine and and your resampled audio are at the same or very nearly the same pitch and their harmonic structures are closely aligned, and experimentation with these effects would be much more practical if you could tell the plugin that the audio you're resynthesising is something other than a fixed octave C.

Is this already possible and I'm just missing something? If not, might this be added at some point?
