How to assign a MIDI input to a MIDI note on the piano roll?

Hello,
I have a Roland TD-11 electric drum kit that I'm using within FL Studio. Right now, the choke on the symbols does not register as a MIDI note on the piano roll (the knob in the top left shows up as green with a question mark).
