FL 20 Piano Roll Randomizer

Why did IL mess with the Piano Roll randomizer in this update? In 12, the rhythm was literally random, not synced to the beat, and it wasn't a stamp, so you could edit individual notes once you hit "accept". It was pretty fun in FL 12 to get a random assortment of notes and try to make a melody out of it. Am I missing something, or did they ruin it?
